End of the Year Freebies

I have 2 more days of post-planning and my summer will officially start.

Well, for a little bit.

Then I have 3 weeks of summer school to teach.

Then I'm done. For real.

:)

I know that several of you out there are still hard at work, so I thought I'd share one of my end of the year activities.

We used bare books from Lakeshore to make third grade memory books. One of our pages included a list of our "favorite things" from this year. I thought I'd share it with you!

I included pages for 1st-5th grade. It's a simple activity you can have the kids do on their own or with their friends. My kiddos loved it, but what they loved more was sharing them in a giant Writer's Workshop circle by the ELMO.

Click above to download it for free from my TpT store! :)

Hope the end is in sight for you as well! Hang in there!!

Almost There...

We have five days of school left (with kids).

Today was Field Day.

I came home, crashed for 45 minutes and then rinsed the day off and took myself to church.

It was the best part of my week.

I can see the end of this year coming and I am so ready.

It has been a long year, peeps.

One thing we're going to do next week is reflect on our year as readers.

So, I've *tweaked* my end of the year reading survey.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the kids have to say - especially about reading logs.

They are a hot topic on our team and I'm not sure how I'm going to move  forward with/without them next year.

DRAs and Sub Plans: A Little {Freebie} Something Different!

"They" are giving me a day off tomorrow.

To do DRAs.

A whole day - just for DRAs.

"They" are even making sure we have help. Our math counterparts, our EIP (Early Intervention Program) and ESOL teachers are helping us too. We're calling it The DRA Blitz.

Seriously.

The thought of hearing "Busy Helpers" and "Mystery at The Mays' House" a bajillion times makes me want to poke my eye out with a dirty stick.

And then there's the thought of someone else doing your DRAs.

Someone that doesn't know your kids.

Someone whose judgment might not be the same as yours.

BUT.

This is a gift. And I will not complain.

Especially since I even get an hour for lunch.

AND.

We are ordering out.

Wooooo-hooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So today, after school, instead of prepping for Day 10,000 of Remediation for THE RETEST, I wrote sub plans.

Note to self: Write blog post about the nightmare that is Remediation with a Capital R.

I am a little nervous, peeps.

This is either going to be genius or it will backfire in my face.

First, we are going to start with some cutesy. Amy Lemons style.

Click on the picture to find it - on SALE - on TpT!

If you don't have this, go get it now. It is super cute and super easy. I ran off her templates on cardstock and left step-by-step instructions. It will either be a mess or really cute.

Then I threw together a Think-Tac-Toe board. I wish I used these more often. The kids love them. You know that whole "choice" thing.

Think Tac Toe 1

What do you think? Should I make more of these? I'm thinking of doing a set for each quarter of the school year according to the Common Core course maps we're going to follow.

Wish me luck tomorrow! I have 40 kids to do. Not by myself, but it's not going to be easy either.

PS - Don't forget - TpT's sale stops today, but mine will go on all week long!

Teacher Appreciation JACKPOT **UPDATED**

I can hardly stand it!
One of the things I LOVE to do this time of year is love on my teacher peeps. The end is in sight, the kiddos are crazy and sometimes the thought of getting up to do it all over again seems to be really overwhelming.

Laura Candler, April McNair and Adrianne Meldrum have brainstormed the perfect way for us to support each other.

My dears, when I tell you this is going to be the mother of all teacher jackpots, I am not kidding. There are over 130 bloggers participating in an *amazing* blog hop event. We've each agreed to give away (for one day only) a Teachers Pay Teachers item from our store that is normally valued between $3-$8. The total jackpot is valued around $500!!

Mark your calendars for SUNDAY, MAY 6th... I don't want you to miss it!!

Since so many bloggers wanted to show their love and appreciation for our fellow educators, the event will be divided up between three "host" websites:

PK-2 Freebies will be found at A Modern Teacher by April McNair

3-6 Freebies will be found at Corkboard Connections by Laura Candler

7-12 Freebies will be found at The Tutor House by Adrianne Meldrum

This is a way for us to say THANK YOU for reading our blogs, supporting our TpT adventures, leaving sweet comments and being a network of encouragement.

There's also going to be a GINORMOUS SALE  on TpT in honor of  Teacher Appreciation week from May 6th through May 8th, where you'll be able to get some of our products for up to 28% off! So... fill up your wish list now! I AM!! :)

Look below to "hop around" to see the blogs participating in the 3-6 Jackpot.  You don't have to worry that you may end up paying for an item if we make it free; if a product in your cart later becomes free, you won't pay anything for it at checkout. Trust me on this!

Here's YOUR freebie:

I would love for you to meet a new blogger on the block...

She is another third grade teacher in my district and I am super excited to watch her grow as she jumps into the bloggy world with the rest of us!

Right now, she is kicking things off with a giveaway of her AWESOME graphing unit. I've had a sneak peek and it is definitely worth checking out!!

She will choose TWO lucky winners on May 4th, so HURRY UP and click on the picture above to become a follower and enter! You need to leave a comment on Britney's blog to enter!!

You know, ever since I read a *certain* book, I've become quite fond of SHOUTY CAPITALS. They make me feel spunky.

Laters!  ;-)
